Last week I struggled to buy veal bones for my veal stock and so ended up buying osso bucco and cutting off the meat.  I therefore had some veal to use.  Anyway I thought that a lovely ragu with pasta would be just what the doctor ordered.  It was really good but I did think it could do with some more tomato purée to make it just a little richer.

I also had some fresh very ripe figs that were needing to use or lose and so made a figgy pudding.  I wanted to bake it rather than put in breadcrumbs and suet and steam as that tend’s to be heavier.  It felt very Christmassy and I really enjoyed eating it and was pleased with myself as I thought my recipe was lovely.
