What a lovely start to the new year, waking up to the waves crashing as the tide came in, the sun shining. I really do love being by the sea, the air is almost magical.  We wandered over to the beach in the morning and then went for lunch at a very small, very unassuming little place. The wonderful thing for me was being reminded that great food doesn’t have to be fancy or complicated to be special.  The toasted sandwich and pizzas were so so delicious and the carrot cake actually the best I have eaten, heavy on spices with wonderful frosting. From the first bite to the last it was wonderful.
