As I was putting my new books into the book shelves I came across an old book of mums, the dairy book of family cookery.  I used to love this book as a little girl and flicking through I had so many happy memories.

Then we drove up to Birmingham to have dinner in my most favourite restaurant, Purnells.  We always have such a blast when we go there, the food is incredible.  It started wonderfully when my friend Clare had paid for espresso martini's for us.  We were seated overlooking the kitchen (my favourite table) and shortly after sitting down I was surprised when Mr Purnell came over to wish me a happy birthday.  We laughed and laughed and ate and drank until we were full. It was an absolutely wonderful evening.
