Our Saturday thing is fresh bread for brunch.  Usually Lidl's because they do the best bread around here (although Waitrose is a very close second).  So today I had for lunch cheese salad crusty rolls which, although super simple, really is one of my absolute favourites.  It really is simple and always makes me think back to the bakers from when I was a child that was at the top of my road.  They used to have apple turnovers, iced fingers, jam doughnuts, custard slices, all of the classics in fact. as well as sausage rolls, ham salad rolls and cheese salad rolls.  My favourite rolls were topped with poppy seeds. Anyway this wonderful roll reminded me of the cheese rolls they used to sell, the thoughts made me really smile.
