Ingredients
1 x 750ml white wine
250ml water
50-100g caster sugar the amount will be according to your taste
2 oranges and 1 lemon cut into slices
1 star anise
12 cloves
4 cinnamon sticks

Method
Put everything but the lemons into a large saucepan and put onto a medium heat until it gets to just before simmering.  Turn down to your lowest setting and leave it for at least half an hour. 

Enjoy the smell of Christmas throughout your house long before you get to drink it. Just before serving put in the lemon slices.
