I love cheese and there is nothing nicer than a lunch of fresh bread, gorgeous cheese and wine.
Today Rhona found some really good cheese in M&S - Bleu D’Affinois and Pave D’Affinois - they were absolutely delicious and went so well with fresh bread, a bottle of Rustenberg Red muscadel and some Daylesford hot pepper jelly. It was a perfect lunch and so, so good. So good that it was difficult to have any kind of control and stop eating.
Our friends in South Africa, Kerryn and Ian first introduced us to jalapeño jelly made by Dalewood Fromage, they do both red and green jelly and they are just the best accompaniment for cheeses and cold meats. Unfortunately we ran out back in March when the SA borders closed and COVID took grip. Since then I have been on the search for something like it and although there have been lots of tests, unfortunately nothing has come anywhere near. We luckily do still have a jar of the red jalapeño although it is not quite the same, it is still good.
