So today is the day of love, a day to show somebody you care.  I keep hearing from people should you be dictated to and told which day to love somebody?  Shouldn't you do that every day?  Of course you should but as I have said before, it is easy to let the hum drum of life get in the way so why not use this day for what it is, just letting somebody you know you care.

Tonight we had cured salmon with a yuzu dressing and for mains we had glazed vegetables, macaroni cheese and steak, it was fairly simple food at heart but hearty and really good, we let the ingredients speak for themselves.  There was a funny moment when the steak was seasoned and heavily peppered with new black peppercorns and as we put the steak into the pan, it smoked heavily as it was too hot but the air filled with this pepper smoke that made us all cough and choke and continued coughing on and off all night. It is the first time this has happened but it was funny. I still urge you to try the steak.
