Nathalie is here for the weekend and wanted to make a groenboontjie bredie.  I was not really sure what to expect but it was absolutely delicious.  I worried that the few hours it took to cook would destroy the green beans and that they would taste a bit mush like.  How wrong I was.  The kitchen after an hour or so smelt divine and by the time it was actually ready the lamb had cooked down for hours with the green beans potatoes and onions - oh and lots of white pepper - and the whole thing was flavourful and gorgeous.  A big bowl of comfort.  So lekker.

I also pre-ordered The Nutmeg Trail by Eleanor Ford, I cannot wait until April when it is released, I absolutely love her book Fire Islands and I really love spices so can’t wait.
