Did I tell you we started dieting a few months ago? I say dieting, we are cutting our portion sizes, switching to some lower fat things and also calorie counting. If we go over what we have set we do, but at least then it is a choice. I think our portion sizes got out of control and, being a foodie, food is always at the forefront of my mind.
So I wanted to try to create a lower calorie tiramisu cheesecake. I used very low fat cream cheese, low fat butter, low fat cream, sweetener instead of sugar and chocolate. The sweetener does have a little twang but calorie wise it was less than half the calories (and the calories on this gorgeous little dessert is, sadly, fairly high) and so I could easily live with that little twang.
