I wanted to try the charred chilli chicken recipe we made with quorn instead. I quite like quorn as a replacement for meat. I was a vegetarian for 14 years and quorn was always my favourite. I stopped eating meat because of the animal suffering and not because of the taste and so for me, I wanted to replicate the meat taste/mouthfeel as much as I could.
I thought this would be a good dish and so I was really excited to try it. Our chillies today were HOT so our charred chilli quorn dish was also super spicy. Poor Victoria really suffered with the heat the most, Rhona and I could tolerate it. I was really pleased that the quorn worked really well and the dish was delicious. Thankfully the rice helped to take some of the sting away so Victoria did not need to starve.
