Happy St Patricks Day!
I went to M&S today to pick up some golden chocolate spread. Whilst I was there I saw these gorgeous looking Calabrian sausages in M&S, they looked spicy, large and so good I picked them up and bought them. I love nduja and Calabrian sausages, the spicy kick, all that gorgeous oil that comes from them. So today we were pondering what to do with them and I decided on an orzo one pot. The sausage wasn’t quite as flavourful as I had hoped but the dish was nice. We added onions and garlic and crushed tomatoes as a base flavour and then just cooked it all together for about half an hour. It was filling, tasty and one to repeat with nduja I think.
We also made a pistachio and golden chocolate pudding with our leftover panettone. The original recipe was a Calum Franklin one and I just changed it from using gianduja as I thought the golden chocolate would compliment the pistachio more. It really was lovely, my first time eating bread pudding since I was a child and this was worlds apart. I would definitely make this again in the future and might even buy a panettone just to make this, it was utterly gorgeous.
