Christmas Eve fun with the kids

xmas_kids_baking.jpg

I love Christmas Eve, the shopping is done, presents bought and you finally have time to get into the Christmas spirit before the whirlwind of the big day!   For younger children they are full of excitement at the prospect of Santa and the reindeers coming and it is just such a magical time. Children grow up so fast, treasure these moments while you can.

When my children were young we used to make cookies for Santa and food for the reindeer. There is a cupcake recipe that is not only delicious but also fun for the kids to decorate, some speculoos biscuits which are perfect for Santa, reindeer food to help guide the reindeer to your house and reindeer cookies which are also loved by birds.  There is also a recipe for chocolate mince pie filling - which is really so good that it will change the minds of all mincemeat haters!

I have had a couple of requests, one for a sticky toffee pudding as an alternative to Christmas pudding from Nicky and red cabbage from Clare.   Ladies, these recipes are for you, let me know how they go x

Enjoy the recipes and comment to let me know how they go if you try them

I wish you a very merry Christmas.

Kelly x
