Going through my new cookbook Chinese Unchopped by Jeremy Pang the wontons in broth were calling out to me and I had some wonton wrappers and so it seemed like the most sensible thing to do. They were absolutely delicious, the broth which I made using my master stock was so delicious and the wontons were so good with them. Everybody ate them and asked for more even though I made enough wontons for 8 people!
The kids and I also made a peppermint refrigerator cake from Edd Kimbers book. The base layer and top layer were lovely but the peppermint layer just felt too fake. I think I just need to work out how to make the mint layer more real tasting.
The new book of the month was announced today, Theo Randall’s The Italian Deli, I love Italian food so cannot wait.
