Today we had such a lovely day.  Everybody loved their gifts, Rhona got an ice cream machine and some ice cream cookbooks to aid her ice cream obsession.  Matt got some lovely trainers and bits and I got a Thermomix.  A Thermomix!  I literally cried when I unwrapped it, I felt like the luckiest person in the whole world.  I have wanted a Thermomix for so long and there are so many recipes I want to try and have to try.  It is so many machines rolled into one, I am so happy.

For Christmas lunch we had crab mayo salad and brown crab on toast and a gorgeous prosecco (I am not a fan of champagne really because I don't like chardonnay at all and predominantly champagne is made up of chardonnay grapes).  The crab salad is simple, easy to put together and just beautiful.  We then had a cranberry and pistachio stuffed poussin with roasties, butter glazed veg and a beautiful chicken gravy with an appassimento followed by a praline choux and the most gorgeous cheeses; montagnolo, appenzella extra, pecorino with chili, brebirousse dargental with an ice wine.  A perfect day and it firms up my love for Christmas.
